The Anantarak Nursing Care School is organizing a charity entitled, “Spirit of Hua Hin for Southern Thailand” on 4 May from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. at the Phon Kingpetch Memorial Park.
According to Ms. Pornrawee Sileungsawad, the Director of the Anantarak Nursing Care School, not only are many provinces in the south of Thailand facing constant insurgency caused by terrorists and separatists but they also suffer from natural disasters, particularly the recent flood that damaged property and blocked transportation to and from the areas.
Both incidents are making life of local people there more difficult. Concerned over such problems, the school is calling for donations – whether money or things – for the people living in the flood-hitting areas of Southern Thailand. All donations will be forwarded to the Thai Community Foundation who established the Baan Nam Khem Tsunami Relief Center. A survey done by the Foundation revealed that 100 households were in real need for temporary shelters, each of which cost around 25,000 Baht. So, fundraising has to be carried out immediately.
As part of the fundraising activity, “The Spirit of Hua Hin for Southern Thailand” charity features a concert of local artists and music for life singers besides product displays and sales of 1,000 T-shirt, happy dolls made by the Anantarak Nursing Care School, and music CDs of the local artists. Visitors can attend the event and make donation there. Further information can be inquired at tel. 081 6466374 and 081 8743142.
