Black Mountain General Manager, Harald Ellison has revealed that the 2016 True Thailand Classic is likely to be held at the award-winning Black Mountain Golf Course on 10th – 13th March next year. The 2015 event, won by Australian Andrew Dodt, was held in February and hailed as a great success. Mr Ellison is a believer in continual improvement so there are likely to be some upgrades in 2016 but really only ‘fine tuning’ is required.
He commended the Asian and European Tour organisers for providing such a high level of professional organisation this year. For him arranging less prestigious events when he is solely responsible for the organisation is really more demanding when there is no one else on hand to make sure everything is in order. Final confirmation of the ‘Classic’ dates and the starting field is still required. However the Event, perhaps the most important on the Thailand golfing calendar, seems certain to be returning to Black Mountain next year.
