People in Hua Hin were advised to use water wisely to prevent water shortage during the upcoming summer.
According to the Mayor of Hua Hin Mr. Jira Pongpaiboon, although the city is quickly developing with increasing number of residents, it lacks big dams or a reservoir that could contain a large amount of water. Presently, the city relies on water supply from the Pranburi and Phetchaburi dams for daily use. Consequently, using water wisely is crucial during the upcoming hot season which is predicted to last longer than the years before.
The Hua Hin Municipal Waterworks Authority has lately checked the amount of water supplied from Pranburi and found that the water to be used as tap water dropped drastically. So, not only local people but also business owners in Hua Hin should use water wisely. If possible, it is recommended that they stock water for emergency use at home.
The Waterworks Authority also warned people to keep an eye on the water meter at home because many of them have been stolen recently and sold at the black market. Any unusual incidents or observation should be immediately reported to the Hua Hin Municipal Waterworks Authority at tel. 032 511 667 or 032 511 677.
