The month of April is a special one as Thailand’s most famous festival approaches. Songkran marks the beginning of the traditional Thai New Year and is celebrated as a water festival. The Buddhist tradition uses water as a symbol of purification but as time went by, Songkran evolved and is now the biggest water fight celebration in Thailand. Thai New Year will be celebrated from 13 – 15 April and there will be countless spots to enjoy the fun-filled celebrations as buckets of ice cold water are hurled at people and high-powered water pistols are loaded for the festivities. One particular spot to visit during the water festival is Vana Nava Waterpark.
This year it welcomes the two-day Volo Festival 2019 from 13 – 14 April. A unique mix of fashion, music, food, and of course water fights, this is sure to be an epic celebration. Global icons such as A$AP Rocky and 2Chainz are headlining the Volo Festival along with fantastic supporting artists that are bound to please any hip-hop enthusiast. The 10th Asian Beach Polo Championship takes place on the 27th of April and remains one of the most famous events in Hua Hin. Held on the beachfront at the InterContinental Hua Hin Resort, everyone is welcome to enjoy the festivities.
Ticket proceeds go to charity and the event starts at 13:00. Activities include an opening ceremony, a fashion show on horseback, kids polo, horse racing, and the beach polo finals. A cocktail dinner commences from 18:30 and features live music, decadent food, and dancing on the beach. Furthermore, the Hua Hin Business Network Wine Evening will be held at InterContinental Hua Hin Resort on the 25th of April. The Fireside Bar by the beach is the venue for April and boasts an elegant ambiance, the perfect spot to socialize and network.
