Blood Test and Urinalysis
Many diseases cannot be diagnosed and identified immediately. There are some operation tests needed, for example, blood test and urinalysis. Then the doctor can use both results to diagnose and plan the medical treatment. This two test also are normally used in annual health check.
Some frequently asked questions and how to prepare for  blood and urine tests are
. Blood test;
– How to prepare yourself before testing blood? You should get at least 6-8 hours of sleep. Also do not exercise too much and do not drink any alcohol beverage the night before the tests. Some medicines might affect the results please check with your doctor. One should eat your meals as per normal. Only exception to this is if you are getting blood sugar and cholesterol test. Then you must fast at least 8-12 hours before the blood test.During the fast only drinking water is allowed.
– How much cc of blood will be taken for the blood test? Total blood volume in human body is about 5,000 cc. The amount of blood withdrawn will be only about 8-10 cc, approximately 0.2% of your total blood.
– How long does it take to get the result? For Complete Blood Count (CBC), Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN), Creatinine (Cr), Serum Glutamic-Oxaloacetic Transaminase (SGOT), Serum Glutamate Pyruvate Transaminase (SGPT), Liver Function Test, Fasting Blood Sugar (FBC), Cholesterol and etc., the test result will take about 1-3 hours. For Blood Culture or some special results will take about a day.
Urine analysis
Urine Analysis can also tell about your health for example, Renal Stone, Renal Failure and etc. The best time for testing or getting the urine for the test is in the morning after you wake up because the urine will have high intensity with many types of sediment. The right process should be letting the urine go for few seconds to reduce cell contamination from Urethra. Women are having a period should not test the urine because erythrocyte or red blood cell may come out with the urine which causes the incorrect diagnosis.
