Care Centres to be established to help ex-convicts after release

The establishment of CARE, centres is a new project that aims to help those released from prison to rebuild their lives and get a job when they are back in the community. Many ex-prisoners find life on the outside difficult, particularly if their incarceration has been lengthy, these centres will teach them how to adapt and help them to find gainful employment to rebuild their lives.

Those qualifying will have undergone various vocational training schemes during their time in prison to help them to rehabilitate and prove their desire to reform, this program is designed to find them appropriate employment that utilises such schemes offering them the satisfaction of paid employment and a better way of life.

Upon the expiration of their term, to qualify, inmates must undergo Covid-19 tests prior to release, if they test positive they will be quarantined for a further 14 days inside the prison. If prisoners do not agree to further prison detention, coordination with their local hospital or the local public health authority will be sought to provide alternative arrangements.
