Hua Hin Women’s Club will host a gala dinner to raise fund for the disadvantaged and the poor in Hua Hin. The event will take place on 5th October 2013 at Hilton Hua Hin Resort and Spa from 6 p.m. A ticket costs 2,000 Baht and proceeds will be spent on charities supported by the Club to help the poor and construction of a new building for patients of Hua Hin Hospital.
According to the Chairperson of Hua Hin Women’s Club Mrs. Lisa Uengheng, not only do Thai people like to stay in Hua Hin but also many foreigners. Some foreign visitors are marry Thai ladies and settle here. To give those women some assistance on legal, professional and business affairs, Hua Hin Women’s Club was established and has been working closely with the Hua Hin Municipality and other private and public organisations. Its major work includes allowing members to participate in creative pastime activities, giving advice to Thai women who marry foreigners about basic human rights and legal affairs, coordinating with public offices to solve problems on crime against women, sexual harassment and drugs and helping foreigners in Hua Hin. In addition, the Club has taken part in activities that aim to foster local intellect and traditional culture in Hua Hin and organised some events to promote tourism in the city.
