Thankfully the heavy rainy days seemed to have passed and at least the sun peeks out once in a while. As the weather improves so has the social calendar. The Queen’s Birthday is 12th August and there are lots activities linked to this happening in Hua Hin and Cha-Am, pas see some of the articles in this edition.
We at Hua Hin & Cha Am Today wish her Majesty the Queen a Happy Birthday.
Also the King’s Cup Elephant Polo tournament is celebrating its twelfth anniversary from August 28th to September 1st. This is also an Event not be missed. The four day festival has something for everyone; a parade, celebrities, Children’s Day, Ladies Fashion Day and a fun fair. The whole thing is topped by a Moulin Rouge themed Auction Gala Dinner with proceeds going to projects for the betterment of Thailand’s elephants. With free admission for everyone this should not be missed!
The 2013 Hua Hin Golf festival is on for all of August and September. The Festival is a perfect time to get reduced green fees on 9 golf courses in our area and there will be a series of competitions pretty much most weekends. For details see our article in this edition. For more golf the Hyatt Open will be held at Banyan Golf Club Hua Hin so if you love Golf this is the month for you!

We are planning on “outing” some of our more fun articles well before the appearance of the newspaper each month! Also we are giving away two Sawang Resort Golf Club green fee vouchers and Putahracsa dinner for two for the two best comments (our stories) given on our Facebook pages!
Talking about Facebook pages, there is a viral campaign going on started by some staff of the Hotel Novotel Hua Hin Cha Am Beach Resort and Spa asking for likes. If they reach 15,000 likes apparently their GM Alexander Parry will be a bellhop for a day! To help that happen go to their Facebook page and like, and by the way if that happens we will document the event with pictures in Hua Hin & Cha Am Today.
