We have just met lovely Pisa Cheng the creative founder of Uniqueness Ltd, in her trendy Atelier & Showroom on Nongplub Road right opposite Big C Market. Pisa was born and grew up in Hong Kong as an only child.
Uniqueness has started as a speed-dating company back in 2007 in Hong Kong and operated for around 3 years.
As a hobby Pisa made her own bags, clutches, and small accessories with whatever materials she could find, selling some of them on either E-bay or Etsy website. She noticed that people were stopping her in the street or when she was going out, to know where she bought this or that bag. She decided that is was time to start her own business. What a great way to make a living about something you are passionate about.
Earlier this year, that Pisa and her husband and her decided to move from Hong Kong and set up a furniture business for him, with her shop next door.
Her concept is “One of the Kind”; in the shop there are materials such as paper, plastic, fur and leather materials. There are gorgeous and bold bright colours to more neutral shades. Our favorite one is “The Woooool” in grey marl color. But you can go and actually create your own if you would like to make some changes from what she has already. Just go and discuss with her.
Pisa’s personal signature is her logo: this symbol signifies happiness and is pronounced “sheung hei” in Cantonese. In Chinese calligraphy, this symbol means happiness and since it is repeated, it should bring you a double happiness.
She recently came up with a fantastic idea to help “Temple Dogs”. She has designed hand-made key chains with pictures of the temples puppies. They are no more than 200 baht each, and all the profits will go to help nurturing female dogs at “Temple Dogs”.
Her beauty and fashion essentials: a simple concealer and mascara that she won’t leave the house without applying. Pisa has an obsession with high heels, but this is now kept for her night’s out in Hong Kong.
Her favorite place in Hua Hin, is a little bar by the sea near the Hilton, she is not sure of the name, but she calls it “Panda Bar” because the dog they have there has that name. On week-ends Pisa loves to relax with her Husband by the pool, playing with their dogs.
Her favorite place to escape and relax, after Hong Kong where her family is based, is Fiji. It was her honeymoon destination, and she loves the friendly and kind the people there.
