

The Hua Hin Mayor . Mr Nopporn Wutthikhun and the former Mayor Mr. Jira Pongpaiboon recently hosted the opening of the Raphee Tutor Centre. This is a new learning centre to equip students with knowledge and upgrade them in preparation for the upcoming ASEAN Community. According to the Board Manager Mrs. Rapheephan Methanoppakhun, the official opening took place on March. The Tutor Centre is a Branch of the Organisation’s Head Office in Bangkok.The Raphee Tutor Centre offers many Courses including mathematics, general sciences, English, medical sciences, law and political sciences. All tutors are from well known universities in Thailand.
Tutoring will be conducted in groups or privately for Grades 6 to 12 students starting from the April summer holiday.All Courses begin at 9 a.m. from Tuesday to Sunday. Each Course will be taught four times a day. However after the summer holiday each Course will be taught once a day from Monday to Friday and four times a day on weekends.
Mrs. Rapheephan stated that the main objective of the Tutor Centre is to improve the educational status of students in Hua Hin and nearby areas. Taking a Course at the Centre will assist students to spend their time wisely by reviewing and revising lessons they learn in class. This will help them pass admission exams for further studies at Thai universities such as Chula, Thammasat or Mahidol.Mrs. Rapheephan also gave an assurance that students attending the Raphee Tutor Centre would have access to all the knowledge they need for admission exams. The Bangkok Centre has been open for ten years and enjoys great success with many students passing the admission exams to study at the University of their choice. She invited Thai and foreign students who can speak Thai to enrol in Courses at the Raphee Tutor Centre. It is located beside the Hua Hin Municipality.
The Hua Hin Mayor Mr. Nopporn said that it was good that Hua Hin now has new international standard Tutor Centre available in the City Centre. Local people in Hua Hin and Prachuap Khirikhan have usually sent their children to Tutor Centres in Bangkok. As the Hua Hin Municipality is a public office that supports education, the new Tutor Centre is warmly welcomed.Finally, Mr. Nopporn said that the Raphee Tutor Centre would upgrade the status of Hua Hin towards the upcoming ASEAN Community in terms of educational promotion. He suggested that parents should give it strong support.
