The Crab Pulling Festival, known locally as the Pu Chak Festival in Thai, enjoyed great success as the numbers of visitors at the Event were almost equal to the Shell Eating, Bird Watching and Squid Catching Festival, said the Mayor of Cha-Am Mr. Nukul Pornsomboonsiri.

Organised by the Cha-Am Municipality, Singha Corporation and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the 3rd Pu Chak Festival took place from 9th to 17th February 2013 at the Cha-Am lookout. It aims to promote tourism in the City by featuring the unique traditional fishing lifestyle as well as entertainment and selling fresh seafood.

Although only the third Event, this Festival is as popular as the Shell Eating, Bird Watching and Squid Catching Festival which has been held for 14 years. As it coincided with Valentine’s Day, the organisers created a beautiful flower arbor for travelers to take pictures with their loved ones.

The Cha-Am Mayor would like to thank all visitors who attended the Event and is hoping to see them come back again at the 15th Shell Eating, Bird Watching and Squid Catching Festival in Cha-Am from 14th to 22ndSeptember 2013.
