Developed at a cost of THB1 billion, the new Vana Nava Hua Hin is billed as” Asia’s first water jungle”. According to Proud Real Estate, which developed the project, it expects to cater to more than 300,000 visitors in its first year of operations. The park opened to the public on 1st December as Hua Hin’s latest tourism attraction. Covering 3.2 hectares and surrounded by 200,000 trees, the water park features a variety of rides and slides and was constructed by Canada’s WhiteWater West Industries, which has supplied equipment to 5,000 venues around the world. After dark, the park features bars, a video game arcade and DJs, with developers saying they expect the complex to become a “new entertainment hub in Hua Hin”.
The park marks the first phase of larger mixeduse development that will also include a 300-room hotel and residences. “We set out to create one of the best family leisure destinations in the region,” said Proudputh Liptapanlop, Chief Executive Officer of Proud Real Estate. “Together with our partners, who all share the same vision, we want to redefine family entertainment with some of the world’s best and greatest slides and attractions, developed to the highest safety standards and using the most updated technology, while promoting the surrounding community and preserving the existing ecosystem.”
Hua Hin Today was given a guided tour of Van Nava with General Manager Mike Fijas. Mike is a New Yorker with 27 years’ experience in the water park industry, managing facilities across the US. Mike has numerous industry certifications and honours; he is also Chair of the World Waterparks Association Safety Committee. The opportunity to come to Thailand presented him with the opportunity to refresh his enthusiasm. His ideas add an international perspective, especially in the area of safety. Our impressions …………………. Vana Nava is a fantastic facility for an action packed family day out with a multitude of exciting and thrilling experiences.
