VIENTIANE, Laos (AP) — Vietnam swept the shooting competitions at the Southeast Asian Games on Tuesday, winning four golds and two silvers to close in on medals tally leader Thailand.

Thailand won two golds Tuesday — in judo and kickboxing — to lead the other 10 countries at the biennial competitions with 45 golds. Vietnam is second with 38 and Singapore third with 30.

Vietnam’s Ngo Huu Vuong won the men’s 10-meter running target mixed, while teammate Nguyuen Van Tung took silver. Vietnam also took gold and silver in men’s 50-meter rifle 3 position, and team golds in 10-meter running target and 50-meter rifle 3 position.

Vietnam also took gold in judo and shuttlecock, which is similar to badminton but played with the feet.

After winning 13 golds on Monday, Thailand had a relatively quiet day with only three golds.

Supanara Sukhasvasti na Ayudhaya won the men’s long jump, while Chuthathip Bampenboon and Pitima Thaweerattanasinp won gold in women’s Jyu No Kata category of judo.

In Muay Thai, or kickboxing, Wanlaya Pongta won the women’s bantamweight 51-54 kilogram category.
