HUA HIN TODAY FRIENDSHIP GOLF TOURNAMENT – July 29th, 2009
The event took place at the Black Mountain Golf Course which is nowadays one of the best golf courses in Thailand. The tournament started in the morning after the welcome of all participants at the Club House, after which they all received their uniform’s match … Red Polos and Cap for the Royal Thai Police and White for the Hua Hin Today Team.
In order to make the game more interesting there were also some guests in the Teams, Jorgen Persson local PGA professional and director of the Golf Academy at Black Mountain GC, Marco Scopetta Member of the Swiss National Team and the Touring Pro, Khun Yo, from Palm Hills Golf Resort.
The golf course was in fantastic conditions and also the weather was perfect. All the participants really enjoyed the game, which was disputed in a very friendly atmosphere.
The format of the competition was very funny, a mix of…. 4 Ball best Ball, Scramble and individual matches….. All in one round of golf ! The total of points for the matches was 24 and the final result… 12 for the Team Royal Thai Police and 12 for the Team Hua Hin Today ! After such an enjoyable game everybody was happy about the result.
The purpose of the organizer was to create a enjoyable event and reinforce the actual relationship between the local authorities and the residents. Sharing opinions and different cultural perspectives during a round of golf have been a very positive experience.
This calls for more “international events” there are so many kinds of sport which we all share and which will bring us together evencloser !
