King’s Cup Elephant Polo by Anantara and Audemars Piguet Donate Funds to
Thailand Elephant Therapy Project
Recently, Mr. William E. Heinecke, CEO and Mr. Dillip Rajakarier, COO of Minor International together with Mr. Oliviero Bottinelli, Regional CEO of Audemars Piguet and key sponsors of 2009 King’s Cup Elephant Polo Tournament, presented a symbolic cheque valued at 1.9 million Baht, to Mr. Prasop Tipprasert, representative of the Thailand Elephant Conservation Centre (TECC) and Dr. Nuntanee Satiansakpong, Assistant Professor, Department of Occupational Therapy at Chiang Mai University.
Mr Prasop oversees the Thailand Elephant Therapy Project, under the auspices of the TECC, which has already rescued 5 elephants from a life of begging on the streets and is currently training them to become ‘therapists’ with Autistic children in Thailand.
The presentation was made during a King’s Cup Elephant Polo luncheon held at Four Seasons Bangkok, and was attended by key sponsors. The luncheon was hosted by Mr.Bodo Klingenberg, General Manager of Anantara Golden Triangle Resort & Spa, the luxurious hilltop five-star resort and the organiser of 2009 King’s Cup Elephant Polo.
