LAHORE, Pakistan (AP) — A Pakistani government official says a court has granted police another 10 days to question five Americans held on suspicion of militant links.
Regional Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said Tuesday the police need more time to carry out the probe.
The police seized the U.S. nationals in two raids last week in the central Punjabi city of Sargodha.
The police allege the Americans intended to join militants in the northwest tribal areas and then travel to Afghanistan to fight against U.S. and allied forces.
