Party Bike on Cha Am Streets
The OK Supermarket in Cha Am presented Cha Am with an Asian First: The Only Partybike in Asia was launched with a great party which took place in front of the OK Supermarket, the sponsor of the happening. Present at the event were the mayor and vise-mayor of Cha Am and a party of Cha Am high society. Not missing the event were hands full of representatives from the Scandinavian, Dutch and British Cha Am society. The sponsor, Ok Supermarket Khun Paul and his lovely wife welcomed the guests with beer and sodas. A Thai buffet supplied the base for energy for a carefully selected group of amateur Lance Armstrong having to propel the Partybike along Cha Am Boulevard. Yours truly was honored by the choice which made me realize I was up to at least 1 hour of pedaling, hopefully supported by 9 others. As the party bike got on its way, half a dozen of lovely ladies jumped aboard to enjoy the ride and the beer. Going down from Petschkasem to the beach, a refreshing tail wind pushed us onto the beach road I call the Boulevard. Amazed guest in the localities jumped out on the streets not to miss the Partybike passing by and numerous pictures must have made us famous overnight. We were on the way for almost an hour when some of the Armstrongs started wishing for a taxi back. Saddles treating behinds not so gently and I was reminded of my first horse ride. Oh how I wished for a bucket of cold water to sit in! After two hours we finally arrived at the OK Supermarket again were a welcome toast was offered to the heroes. Music was supplied by a Philipino trio with impersonations of Elvis (not so good) and Michael Jackson (Brilliant). Elvis is Elvis and Rolex is Rolex. Any copy is fake. However the Trio was really brilliant and the lady singer has a beautiful voice. All together an evening not to forget! Seldom, clean and healthy fun! Before I went home, I peeked into the Supermarket which caters for Farang and Thai. Ok is brilliantly assorted and you can find anything from Apples to Zippers. Hua Hinnners, pay a visit to Cha Am and reserve your ride on the Partybike (B. 500 / 1 hour)
